Upali Obeyesekere, President, Canada-Sri Lanka Business Council is the Canadian Trade Representative for The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE). Obeyesekere is also the Director of South Asian Business Councils Alliance (SABCA) that promotes trade, investment and technology transfer between Canada and SAARC countries.

He pioneered the import of food products from Sri Lanka to Canada in 1983 as agents for Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation (CONSOLEXPO), and Union Commodities (Pvt.) Ltd He was an Investment Promotion Consultant for the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka, a position he held with distinction for three years.
