The number of foreign tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka jumped 2,767.1 percent year-on-year to 96,507 in February of 2022, as soaring vaccinations around the world and softer restrictions for vaccinated travelers, and growing consumer confidence in some outbound source markets. Russia was the largest source of tourist traffic to Sri Lanka with 15.9 percent of the total traffic, followed by India (13.2%), the UK (11.0%), Germany (8.1%), and France (5.9%).
