Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Harsha De Silva is scheduled to speak in detail about the government’s plans to boost ‘Economic Diplomacy,’ at the upcoming Ceylon Chamber forum scheduled to be held on Monday (05). At the event, he is expected to be flanked by the Director General of the Department of Commerce and the Chairman of the Export Development Board.
De Silva will speak under the title of “ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY: expand exports, bring in investments, boost growth and take Sri Lankan firms abroad’. The Director General of the Department of Commerce, Mrs. Sonali Wijeratne will do a presentation on the ways and means of “Enhancing Sri Lanka’s Market Access Abroad”.
In the meantime, Bandula Egodage, Chairman of the Export Development Board, will speak on “How the EDB can assist local corporate firms / SMEs enter or expand in the global market using its channels.”
The trio will also sit for a panel discussion following their presentations at the forum to be held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce premises. The main title of the forum is ‘Explore the global markets and grow your business through the use of Government Channels’
The speakers will outline the assistance, the government, specially Sri Lanka’s overseas missions, the Department of Commerce and the Export Development Board offers to the local businesses seeking to enter new markets.
