In a bid to earn more foreign exchange to Sri Lanka, Premier Ceylon Teas and Spices has introduced the World’s first hand made ‘honey tea’ to the market opening up a new chapter in the Sri Lankan tea exports.
Founder of Premier Ceylon and inventor of the Golden Line Honey Teas, Jagath Wijesekara said that they have registered the product with Patent Rights, No 21449 after extensive research and tasting teas for almost a decade.
“We have already talked to leading high-end supermarket chains in Europe, UK, Japan, Australia and the Gulf to export Golden Line Honey Teas from next July.”
The product is exclusively handmade from the finest of high-grown Ceylon tea buds, hand-picked from private tea gardens in Nuwara Eliya District and carefully hand-rolled and baked in the cinnamon wood-fired hearth and fermented and preserved in pure and natural bee’s honey at their factory in Badaragama. “The process takes are two weeks.”
“In addition to Honey Tea, we also follow this same process and offers an exotic selection of fruits and spices varieties such as Strawberry Honey Tea, Apricot Honey Tea, Kivi Honey Tea, Orange Honey Tea, Pineapple Honey Tea, Mango Honey Tea, Apple Honey Tea, Cinnamon Honey Tea, Cardamom Honey Tea, Clove Honey Tea, Green Honey Tea and Nutmeg Honey Tea and the range will be continually added on.”
“Our next range would be adding an array of European fruits as Blueberry, Raspberry and Cranberry, Blackberry, Cherry and a selection of wild berries to the Honey Tea range.”
